In order to make production and shipping as environmentally friendly as possible, each piece is produced made-to-order. Once your jewelry piece has been crafted by our goldsmiths just for you, it will be sent directly from the workbench to your doorstep.

Our story begins in 2013 with a vision to revolutionize the way things are made in the jewelry industry. After many trials and errors, we pivoted to what you know as stilnest today. We realized that, unfortunately, the industry is slow to adapt, focuses on mass production, and cares little about transparency. We felt that while the industry might not care yet, people do. And so, stilnest was born - the modern jewelry maker that focuses on slow crafting and connecting maker and customer.

Our Fair Pricing

Prices are a tricky topic. Our mission is to price our products fairly and avoid high mark-ups. Our products are produced locally, using recycled materials, and designed with a passion for creativity and craftsmanship.

What is discount culture?

A term popularized in the fashion industry describing goods being priced to accommodate discounts. Without making losses, and still getting profit. High markups, big discounts, and the psychological feeling of getting more for less. As a part of our mission to make jewelry a bit more responsible, sustainable, and human we want to create transparency about our pricing. Here is a breakdown of how we at stilnest calculate retail prices.

Step 1 -

40-50% material and labor

40% Silver/Vermeil & 50% Solid Gold

Costs like materials, packaging, and goldsmith labor are attributed here. Producing made-to-order comes with a price tag, which we feel is 100% worth it.

Step 2 -

15% additional costs

Handling, e-commerce costs, payment fees, etc.

Step 3 -

35% overhead costs

This is where a big chunk of the costs go to. Running a business requires investing in product development, photoshoots, marketing, customer care, office space rent, and our amazing team!

Step 4 -

10% profit

Profit! Because our mission requires money to reinvest in new projects, research, and people!
